About Liminal Press
Liminal Press is an online and print literary journal established with the remit of discovering and publishing the very best in literary fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry from Wales and beyond. We are a new and exciting addition to the literary, artistic and cultural landscape in Wales.
Based in Cardiff, we aim to support a community of emerging and established writers, both locally and from around the world, to write and publish original, bold literary work around themes relating to the concept of liminality. We want to read literary fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction that explores characters and narratives, perspectives, themes and voices from the edges and the in-between spaces, that exist on the borders and the outskirts of the mainstream; physically, emotionally, culturally, ideologically, symbolically, geographically and so much more.
We aim to give voice and credence to characters and narratives that exist in a state of flux and transition, confusion, hesitation or joy. We are seeking atmospheric, psychologically-driven and sensory-rich writing that provides insights into marginalised perspectives, and in doing so promotes awareness and appreciation of otherness whilst breaking down stereotypes.
Liminal Press was established by Col Howarth. Col is a former lecturer with an MA in Creative Writing. He has worked for some of the largest global publishers, has written an award-winning podcast series and has had work performed at the Wales Millennium Centre.
As well as a journal and website, Liminal Press supports a community of writers. In these pages you will find details of courses, workshops, peer review schemes, publishing opportunities, advice on how to gain direct editorial feedback, a global walk and write and a range of resources and tips.
