We welcome submissions in a variety of ways.

Rolling Submissions - OPEN
Submissions remain open throughout the year for publication on the Liminal Press website. We aim to publish up to five new pieces every month and welcome short fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction as follows:
Short Fiction - no more than 2000 words not including the title.
Creative Non-Fiction - no more than 2000 words not including the title.
Poetry - up to 3 poems of no more than 30 lines each not including the title.
Artwork and photography with subjects linked to our themes.
Rolling submissions are free.
Exceptional writing and artwork may be considered for the print journal.
We are unable to pay for pieces published online but we will publish, promote and celebrate your work.
If your work is included in the print journal you will receive a free digital copy.
JOURNAL Submissions - Coming Soon for Liminal #1 HINTER
The submissions window for our print journal is open twice per year - throughout April and October.
As per rolling submissions we are looking for:
Short Fiction - no more than 2000 words not including the title.
Creative Non-Fiction - no more than 2000 words not including the title.
Poetry - up to 3 poems of no more than 30 lines each not including the title.
Artwork and photography with subjects linked to our themes.
Each issue of the journal is curated around a theme. The full details are announced when the submission
window opens. Submissions for the print journal are free.
Exceptional entries are considered for publication both online and in the journal.
We are unable to pay for pieces published but we will publish, promote and celebrate your work.
You will also receive a free digital copy of the journal that your work appears in.
COMPETITION Submissions
We run two competitions per year with submissions opening throughout January and June. We offer cash prizes to a winner and two runners-up and acknowledge up to three honourable mentions per competition as follows.

Competitions are set around a theme with all details being announced at the time of launch.
The fee to enter competitions is £8 and you can enter directly through this site.
As well as this the winner and runners-up will be published online with exceptional writing considered for inclusion in the print journal. If your submission is included in the print journal you will also receive a free digital copy.
Liminal Press GLOBAL WALK AND WRITE
From time to time Liminal Press asks writers from all over the world to stop and notice, and to write about their surroundings.
The Liminal Press Global Walk and Write is a simple idea with a huge horizon.
On the same day, people around the world step outside, walk through their local streets, parks, fields, coastlines and corners and write about what they notice. The smells, the textures, the weather, the strangers, the sounds and the small details that anchor us to place.
For 30–60 minutes, you walk and write. For the week that follows, you write up to 500 words. Then you send it to us.
Liminal Press gathers these pieces into a global snapshot: a map of sensory impressions, fragments of experience and glimpses into a world of everyday lives. A mosaic of voices, each one rooted in its own landscape.
Whether you are walking in Cardiff or Kyoto, Nairobi or New York, Reykjavik or Rio, your piece becomes a dot in a growing constellation of human experience.
Interesting entries will be published online with the possibility of print publication. There is no fee to submit your piece and it is not a competition. Likewise, there is no fee offered to writers but we will publish and celebrate your work with each successful contributor receiving a free digital copy of the journal their work appears in.
Get Feedback On Your Submissions
As mentioned above, rolling and journal submissions are free, as are walk and write submissions, whilst the fee for competition entries is just £8.
For an additional fee, paid at the point of submission, we can provide detailed feedback on any submission. Feedback provides at least a page of positive and constructive advice designed to encourage you to move forward. Sharing your work in this way is one of the most essential and rewarding aspects of the writer's journey.
We also offer peer reviews to small groups throughout the year which not only prepares the writer to expect and accept constructive feedback but also encourages writers to practice the skill of reviewing and editing the work of others.
